  • Prepare the Way

    Prepare the way
    The King is coming.
    Prepare the way
The Prince of Peace is near.

    Light the candles,
    And the darkness disappears.
    Follow the star,
The King will soon be here.

Isaiah got a message three thousand years ago,
That from the branch of Jesse, the Son of God would grow.
His chosen servant will bring justice to all nations.
Spread the Good News. Sing out this proclamation.

An angel said to Mary, Do not be afraid.
God has found favor with you this very day.
In your womb you will conceive and bear a son.
You shall name him Jesus. He is the Holy One.

  • The Winds of Pentecost

    Hear the winds of Pentecost
    blowin' like a hurricane.
See the fire, as the words of God
    in foreign tongues proclaim.
    The followers were filled
    with the holy spirit.
    When the winds of Pentecost
    came that day.

    Hallelu, hallelu, hallelujah.
The church was born that day.
    Hallelu, hallelu, hallelujah.
The winds of Pentecost still blow today.

    Peter preached to the multitudes.
    And God transformed their lives.
    They repented from their sins.
    And thousands were baptized.
    They came to Jerusalem
to give their gifts to God.

    Hallelu, hallelu, hallelujah.
The church was born that day.
    Hallelu, hallelu, hallelujah.
The winds of Pentecost still blow today.

    Jesus sent His holy spirit
So He could live within our hearts.
A true friend, our Lord and savior.
    This relationship will never part.

    Hallelu, hallelu, hallelujah.
The church was born that day.
    Hallelu, hallelu, hallelujah.
The winds of Pentecost still blow today.

  • 2) The Alabaster Jar

A woman came with an alabaster jar,
    Filled with expensive perfume.
She broke the jar and poured it on His head,
There was a stir in the room, and they said,

"If you had sold it, you could have done much more.
You could have given the money to the poor."
But Jesus said, "Let her be.
For she did it for me.

And what have you done for me?
    Do you give reluctantly?
Those who sow with a grateful heart,
    Receive my blessings bountifully.

Do you have an alabaster jar,
    To present to the Lord,
Or will you withhold the contents of your life,
    Behind a closed door.

When you walk with the Lord,
You'll have no reason to horde.
Your relationship will carry you through
For He will look after you.

And what have you done for me?
    Do you give reluctantly?
Those who sow with a grateful heart,
    Receive my blessings bountifully.

  • 3) Lord of Everything

The rich ones brought their gifts, to the temple hall.
Some were impressed, by the size of them all.
Then two small copper coins were dropped in the plate.
And Jesus said, "This gift, I will celebrate.
The rich would never miss what they gave today.
But the poor widow, she gave all she had away.

    Lord of Everything.
    It makes the angels sing,
When you give it all to the Lord.

Creator of the land and sea,
He will provide your every need,
And lift you up upon his gentle wings.
When He's your Lord of Everything.

They claimed no ownership of their possessions.
The believers were of one heart and mind.
They sold their property and lived in harmony,
Sharing what they had, it was God's design.
The followers were filled with the Holy Spirit.
And they spread the Word, so all the world could hear it.

    Lord of everything.
    It makes the angels sing,
When you give it all to the Lord.

Creator of the land and sea,
He will provide your every need,
And life you up upon his gentle wings.
When He's your Lord of Everything.

    Give Him your time,
    And your talents, too.
A portion of what you make.
    He wants all of you.

  • 4) Planted by the Water

    Planted by the water
    your leaves are always green.
The roots that you send out
    are nourished by the stream.
    You don't have to worry
    when the season is dry.
When you're planted by the water,
    God will supply.

Immerse yourself in the word of God.
Pray everyday as you come and go.
Commune with those who love Jesus.
    Let the Holy Spirit flow.

    Planted by the water
    your leaves are always green.
The roots that you send out
    are nourished by the stream.
    You don't have to worry
    when the season is dry.
When you're planted by the water,
    God will supply.

Stay close to God, the source of life.
In all you do put Him first.
    And your relationship with Jesus
will bear the fruit of your new birth.

On the banks of a river
    two thousand years ago,
    a small crowd gathered,
    and Jesus quenched their souls.

  • 5) The Saints

On the corner of 7th and Green they bowed their heads to pray.
God gave them a dream, and it was fulfilled that day.
We owe a bit of gratitude for what they had begun
One hundred years ago back in 1900 and one.
The little church at 7th and Green is still alive today,
Thanks to the Lord above and the Saints who passed this way.

The Saints, the Saints, who passed this way.
    The Saints live on today.
When we worship Jesus, we can feel their spirit
Yea, the Saints, who passed this way.

Now it's my turn to take the plate what will my legacy be?
And when I'm called home what will they say about me?
The little church will live on for another day.
If we take the torch in hand from the Saints who passed this way.

The Saints, the Saints, who passed this way.
    The Saints live on today.
When we worship Jesus, we can feel their spirit
Yea, the Saints, who passed this way.

  • 6) 40 Days and Nights

    Jesus fasted in the desert,
    and hunger filled his head
The devil smirked, if you're the Son of God,
Then you can turn this stone into bread.

Jesus said I am whom you say,
So don't tempt me with that stone.
It is written in the Book
You can't live by bread alone.

    For forty days and nights
    In the wilderness
He was led by the Holy Spirit.
The devil tried to test the Lord,
But He would not fall for it.

    When you are lost
    In your own wilderness,
And you don't know which way to go.
    Let Jesus be you guide,
And He'll put you on the right road.

    The devil led Jesus up
To where they both could see.
I'll give you all these kingdoms, He said,
    If you worship me.

Then Jesus said, Satan, Go away.
    Let's end this dialogue
It is written in the Book
    Worship the Lord your God.

  • 7) Lord I Need a Miracle

He got the news this morning.
He cleared out his desk and went home.
John tells his family he's lost
The only job that he's known.

Just down the road this morning.
    Mary stares in a daze.
    Her tests came in
And the treatment begins, right away.

And She doesn't know her neighbor,
But the same words they pray.

    Lord I need a miracle,
To help me make it through the day.
    Lord I need a miracle.
Can you hear me when I pray.

You raised a man from the dead
    And turned water into wine.
You opened up a blind man's eyes.
I hope I'm next in line!
    Lord I need a miracle,
To help me make it through the day.

When Bill woke up this morning,
    Temptation called one more time.
His body still craved the pills
    That were destroying his mind.

I too need courage this morning,
Just to get out of bed.
Since you were taken from me,
I'm hanging on by a thread.

And I don't know my neighbor,
But the same words are said.

I don't know where to begin.
    Should I confess my sins?
I place my cares in your healing hands.
Lord will you lead the way?
I promise to obey, your commands.

  • 8) The Calling

I have my doubts, about my ability,
To lead my people out of slavery.
    With my unworthiness,
    And my lack of authority,
    I'm sure you noticed,
    My speech disability.

    Then he said,
I will provide everything you need.
    And with your brother's voice
    You will succeed.

I've got The Calling, knockin' at my door,
I don't want to answer, I'm feelin' so unsure
He keeps on knockin', and I hear Him say.
Step out in faith, and I'll lead the way.

I am just a boy, I've got no experience,
To be a prophet, it makes no sense.
I don't know how to speak, what would I say.
This job is not for me, take it away.

    Then he said,
Before you were born I consecrated you.
    Don't be afraid
I will protect all that you do.

I don't know enough to start your plan.
How can I preach and teach across the land?
With my low self-esteem, I'll never measure up.
Can you find someone else to pass the cup.

    And he said,
Just follow me, and your faith will grow.
    If you obey,
I'll give you all you need to know.

  • 9) To Be Recognized

    He walks into the room.
    He knows the routine.
He buys his lunch, and he pretends
    he's part of the scene.
    The other kids are laughing
    and never notice him.
He tries his best to force a smile,
    but he hurts within'.

He tries to act real tough,
    On the gym floor.
    Two captains choose their teams,
And he stands alone once more.
He feels the blood rushing to his head,
    Why does he bother,
He should have stayed in bed.

If he could have just one wish,
he'd like the world to know
that he exists, and his life
    is but a show.
    No one can see
    the tears in his eyes.
Is it too much to ask?
He just wants to be recognized.

    He walks home alone,
    and no one comes around.
He lives in an old motel
on the hard side of town
    No time to make friends,
    the rent is overdue.
They'll pack up late some night,
    like they always do.

He longs to hear someone call out his name.
And each night on bended knees,
    his words are the same.

  • 10) The Star of David

He peered above the kitchen counter,
when I first saw David's smile.
    Silent Night filled the shelter,
as he passed by in single file.
He took his tray to a table
and thanked God with bowed head.
And after dinner, he looked at me and said.

"May I have that piece of foil,
    that covered the stuffing?"
I said, "Sure you can have it son,
    it's now good for nothing."
He rinsed off his foam plate
and with a plastic knife he carved,
And as he left the hall that night,
he gave me his Christmas star.

The star of David's is the greatest gift this season!
It took a homeless child to show me the true meaning.
Now each and every Christmas I place it upon my tree.
The Christmas Star of David's that he made for me.

Many years have come and gone
since we met that Christmas Eve.
I can't forget that little boy
and the gift he gave to me.
    In another humble shelter
    two thousand years ago,
    the Christ child was born,
and a star let the world know.

The simple act of one child
    proclaimed the Good News.
And my Christmas spirit was renewed.

  • 11) Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.

Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear,
    The hour I first believed.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
    Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise,
    Than when we first begun

  • 1) In My Heart Is A Well

In my heart is a well.
And in that well is a love.
And my love is flowin' deep
And it will never run dry.

    You can't use it up.
I've got a never ending supply.
In my heart is a well
And it will never run dry.

My life was like a desert,
    Withered in the sun.
    And nothing seemed to grow
    But heartache and pain.

    But when you came along
    I started overflowin'
With a love that blooms after the rain.

In my heart is a well.
And in that well is a love.
And my love is flowin' deep
And it will never run dry.

    You can't use it up.
I've got a never ending supply.
In my heart is a well
And it will never run dry.

    Just like a cool oasis,
    In the burning sand
    You've got the love
    Springin' up in me.

    But not so long ago,
    My love was running dry,
And you filled me up so very high.

I never dreamed I would know.
How deep a true love can flow.
    But now that I do,
I'll pour my heart out for you.

  • 2) Funny the Way Life Snowballs

It's funny the way life snowballs,
    Getting' bigger everyday,
And then the sun starts beatin' down,
    To melt that snow away.
It's like the good times getting better each day,
    Until some act of God,
Says the good times aren't here to stay.

    Next time the snow falls,
    We begin to start anew.
And we forget what's happened last time,
For it's better that we do.
If you believe that the bad times never last,
    You will receive the future,
When you let go of the past.

It's funny the way life snowballs.
I've got no time to play.
It's funny the way life snowballs,
Cause I'm workin' night and day.
The bill collector's just around the bend,
But in the end, we all pay.

    Does it really matter,
    Who wins the game,
If you can't remember how you got there,
Then win or lose it's all the same.
Make your loved ones a part of the your life.
Take time to make someone smile.
    Savor the moment for awhile.

  • 3) Doghouse

Sittin' close on a bar room stool,
You and me, we were feeling good.
Then you saw an old friend from school,
That you wanted to talk to.

So you tell me to sit, and I set.
Then you tell me to stay, and I stay.
Then I started to drink too much,
Saw that girl 'cross the way.

You caught me from across the floor,
We were makin' eyes and nothing more.
You took me by the leash, and said come on let's go.
With my tail between my legs, you walked me out the door.

Playin' Cat and Mouse, put me in the Doghouse.
That girl just threw me a bone, and now I'm all alone.
It was never my intention to hurt you.
It was all just a game.
Playin' Cat and Mouse put me in the Doghouse.

Well girl you know that it just ain't right,
You make me sleep on the floor at night.
You know I bark, but I never bite,
Don't keep me tied to this tree.

So when you tell me to sit, I'll sit.
And when you tell me to stay, I'll stay.
If you tell me to beg, I'll beg.
I'm getting' down on my knees.

    Your wish is my command.
I'll roll over, play dead, and give you my hand.
You won't catch me sniffin' around,
'Cause you're the only woman for this old hound.

  • 4) Erin Lynne

The talk got serious some time last Spring.
She thought he would ask the question soon.
He saved his money to buy the perfect ring.
    And then one Sunday afternoon.

    They drove to the beach
to watch the sunset on the bay.
    It's where they first met.
Could he find the words to say?

Erin Lynne, how do I begin,
to tell you how much I love you?
You know I care, and I want to share
    this moment.
    You know that I do.
Erin Lynne, how do I begin?

They both thought back a few years ago,
When they first made footprints in the sand.
They made a sandcastle, but little did they know,
someday he would ask her for her hand.

    Down on one knee,
    he fumbles with his coat.
He pulls out a small white box.
His heart is in his throat.

    And by the setting sun,
    their lives became as one,
    witnessed just by the ocean.
    Day fading into night.
    They hold each other tight.
Time going by in slow motion.

    Your wish is my command.
I'll roll over, play dead, and give you my hand.
You won't catch me sniffin' around,
'Cause you're the only woman for this old hound.

  • 5) Hourglass

More than a quarter of a century has gone by
Since I jumped up on the stage with a spotlight in my eyes.
Then one day I woke up feeling low.
Where did the last 25 years go?
Like the sands from the "hourglass".

I started thinking man, you're just too damn old.
Then a lad from the highlands, he heard my song one day.
He said, "You've got to wake that dream.
    Don't let it slip away."
Like the sands from the "hourglass".

Wake up. Wake up your dreams.
It may be later than it seems.
    Time runs like a stream,
And you can't get it back.
Like the sands from the "hourglass".
Like the sands from the "hourglass".

The message from the highlander rang loud and clear.
And I started singin' out for the whole world to hear.
I can not waste another day, the time is right
To put the passion back into my life.
And I won't let it pass, like the sands from the "hourglass".
Like the sands from the "hourglass".

Wake up. Wake up your dreams.
It may be later than it seems.
    Time runs like a stream,
And you can't get it back.
Like the sands from the "hourglass". Like the sands from the "hourglass".

  • 6) Jumpin' in Heart First

Livin' all of my life never taking chances.
I have always been taught that a girl's advances,
Should be cautiously examined, and not fallen for.
But the lines you used on me, were too good to ignore.

    I'm Jumpin' in Heart First,
I've got no time to think about it.
    I'm Jumpin' in Heart First,
    When the love is real
    You can't live without it.

    I'm Jumpin' in Heart First,
This time I think I really found it.
With a love that runs this deep,
    There's no way around it.
    I'm Jumpin' in Heart First.

When I met you the flame in my heart was dying.
I had given up hope, I wasn't even trying.
Now you're the one who gives my life a sense of urgency.
And you're the one who fuels this fire burnin' inside of me.

    I'm Jumpin' in Heart First,
I've got no time to think about it.
    I'm Jumpin' in Heart First,
    When the love is real
    You can't live without it.

    I'm Jumpin' in Heart First,
This time I think I really found it.
With a love that runs this deep,
    There's no way around it.
    I'm Jumpin' in Heart First

My love life always came in last.
But you got my heart pumpin,'
And now it's catchin' up fast.

  • 7) The Light in Your Eyes

I made the move to the city.
You know I've got to find my fortune and fame.
I told you I'd send for you soon,
But until the day I do,
Girl you're with me, every step of the way.

I can see by the light in your eyes.
I can feel from the warmth in your heart.
I can hear from the sound of your voice.
We're together even when we're apart.

And when we kiss at the end of the day.
I taste a love without compromise..
And when it's dark and I can't find my way.
I can see by the light in your eyes.

    Big city streets leading nowhere.
It's gonna take some time to find my way.
I long to be with you back home,
    But wherever I may go,
Girl you're with me, every step of the way.

When the dream starts to fade,
And the light seems less bright,
And I don't have the strength to carry on.

I hear your voice in the wind.
See your eyes in the night.
Then you lead me, every step of the way.

  • 8) The Thought of Losing You

Loved each other. You said there'd be no other.
    Together. Thought you meant forever.
My love kept growin'. Had no way of knowin.'
You hide it. Our love was just one sided.
Was I just too blind to see it clear?
That your love for me had disappeared.

The Thought of Losing You, never crossed my heart.
Your love was just a show, and I played a part.
You ought to win an Oscar. Your acting was the best.
This story had an ending, I never would have guessed
Because The Thought of Losing You, never crossed my heart.

What's the story? I'll be the jury.
Convicted. You had me so addicted.
I'm servin' time. Still got you on my mind.
Don't you get it? Someday you'll regret it.
Do you get a rise out of it all?
Does it lift you up to watch me fall?

The Thought of Losing You, never crossed my heart.
Your love was just a show, and I played a part.
You ought to win an Oscar. Your acting was the best.
This story had an ending, I never would have guessed
Because The Thought of Losing You, never crossed my heart.

    Pretend it's not the end,
    Sayin' things I just ignore.
You leave me girl, deceive me girl.
    I can't believe you're out the door.
You hurt me and desert me, well allright.
    I don't need you anymore.

The Thought of Losing You, never crossed my heart.
Your love was just a show, and I played a part.
You ought to win an Oscar. Your acting was the best.
This story had an ending, I never would have guessed
Because The Thought of Losing You, never crossed my heart.

  • 9) Maybe It's Love

Got no ring on my finger.
I come and go as I please.
Lived alone since I can remember.
No one leaves a light on for me.

    I answer to no one.
I am bound by no chains.
But lately I've had these feelings.
    Something I just can't explain.

Maybe it's love, but how am I to know.
Maybe it's love, my heart says yes, but my head says no.
Maybe it's love, that's right before my eyes.
Maybe it's love, it's been so long, I didn't recognize.
    Maybe it's love over you.

You say I hide my emotions.
And if it's love I should know.
But girl how can I remember?
When it was so long ago.

You fill my life with confusion.
    Feelings I just can't ignore.
I was convinced I had everything.
But now I'm just not so sure.

Maybe it's love, but how am I to know.
Maybe it's love, my heart says yes, but my head says no.
Maybe it's love, that's right before my eyes.
Maybe it's love, it's been so long, I didn't recognize.
    Maybe it's love over you.

    Will I change, well I don't know.
Keep it inside or let my feelings flow.
Can I trust my heart, what it's sayin' to me?
Or should I live my life like it used to be.
You say it's love, but how can I believe.

  • 10) Lord I Need A Miracle

He got the news this morning.
He cleared out his desk and went home.
John tells his family he's lost
The only job that he's known.

Just down the road this morning.
    Mary stares in a daze.
    Her tests came in
And the treatment begins, right away.

And She doesn't know her neighbor,
But the same words they pray.

    Lord I need a miracle,
To help me make it through the day.
    Lord I need a miracle.
Can you hear me when I pray.

You raised a man from the dead
    And turned water into wine.
You opened up a blind man's eyes.
I hope I'm next in line!
    Lord I need a miracle,
To help me make it through the day.

When Bill woke up this morning,
    Temptation called one more time.
His body still craved the pills
    That were destroying his mind.

I too need courage this morning,
Just to get out of bed.
Since you were taken from me,
I'm hanging on by a thread.

And I don't know my neighbor,
But the same words are said.

I don't know where to begin.
    Should I confess my sins?
I place my cares in your healing hands.
Lord will you lead the way?
I promise to obey, your commands.

  • 11) Hold Everything

    You say now you're leavin'
And this love isn't worth a dime.
    I say, think it over.
Maybe we need a bit more time
    To get a fire burnin',
    Forever in our hearts.
You've got to take love slowly,
It's not too late to start.

Wrap your arms around me and hold,
    Hold everything, Hold everything.
How nice it could be, if you would
Wrap your arms around me and
    Hold everything, Hold everything,
Baby, don't you let go of me.

    Don't think love comes easy,
And you don't even have to try.
    Or when we've got troubles,
Don't think it's time to say goodbye.
Well I've got news for you now,
Our love is worth the wait,
Though you may think it's over,
I know it's not too late.

Wrap your arms around me and hold,
    Hold everything, Hold everything.
How nice it could be, if you would
Wrap your arms around me and
Hold everything, Hold everything, Baby, don't you let go of me.
